History
The ancient name of Fethiye, which was a coastal city at the borders of Lycia-Caria, is Telmessos. There is not definite information about the foundation of this Ancient city. According to the first written records, it has come into existence in the 5th century B.C. Telmessos, separate from Lycia, survived as an independent city for a long time. The city experienced the rule of Persia, Alexander the Great, Rome, Pergamum Kingdom, Byzantium, Mentežeošullarż Principality and Ottoman State respectively.
Climate
Mediterranean climate, which is hot and dry during summers and warm and rainy during winters, is dominant in the region. Temperature, which is approximately 30 degrees during summer months, is generally over 10 degrees during winter. Sea water temperature never decreases under 16 degrees during each season.
Fethiye with its cultural wealth, natural beauties and geography, is among the important tourism centres of Turkey. It is famous for its works of art belong to Persians, Lycians, Carians and Romans. I just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed our trip (May 28 to June 4, 2011) on the Blue Capricorn. The crew of 5 was excellent. Maseih Balci, the captain was great. He was very helpful with all our on the boat and on shore needs and arranged transportation to visit some of the ancient sites. The chef, Muret Sener made the most delicious meals. They were so good that we decided to have all our meals on the boat. In this way, we didnāt have to make any meal decisions, leaving all the choices to him, which we all enjoyed.
The arrangements made by Boating Turkey were wonderful. Everything went according to plan and I have no hesitation in recommending Boating Turkey to anyone. Thanks for all the arrangements.

Many thanks to Necmi for assisting throughout the booking process. It was an excellent week of sailing going from Gocek and spending most of the week in the surrounding area. The boat was in great condition and I could tell that it had been well looked after. The handover with the charter company, Portway Yacht Charters was done very well and they accommodated for our late arrival ensuring we would be able to get onto the boat to sleep that night. I highly recommend booking through Boating Turkey and will certainly be using them again in 2016.

- The transfer service to and from Dalaman was comfortable and on time.
- Your staff in Marmaris was friendly and helpful.
- The Gulet was very comfortable and of high class.
- The crew, all four of them,were very friendly,service oriented and helpful. Especially I would like to mention the captain, who communicated very well about alternative routs and destinations.We felt all the time updated. Also the cook, who prepared excellent food all week, and also cooked alternative food for one of our party with an allergy.
We are very happy with the arrangement again, and will not hesitate to come back
