Day 1: Fethiye
Boarding starts at 3.30 pm at Fethiye Marina. While you settle in, dinner will be served on the yacht and we will stay overnight on board in Fethiye Marina. Fethiye, which was known as Telmessos in the ancient times, was the most important city situated on Lykia's western border with Karia. It is believed that the city's name came from Apollon's son Telmessos. The city joined the Ottoman in 1924. The name changed many times over the years and was eventually named Fethiye in 1914 after the first Turkish AirForce Officer who was called Fethi Bey, crashed his plane and died here while on duty. In the south of the town you will see many famous tombs and graves survived from the Antique Era and one of the most famous and most beautiful stone tombs is the tomb of King Amyntas. The ruins of a theatre recovered during the excavation carried out by the museum recently is in the city centre.

Day 2: Oludeniz - Soguksu - Gemiler Island
While you are enjoying the breakfast, we will inform you about the cruise programme and safety procedures of the yacht. We will set sail for Oludeniz. Our yacht will be anchored at Soguksu Bay for lunch and swim. The next stop will be Gemiler Island. It is recommended to have an early evening walk on Gemiler Island and pay a visit to the Church of St. Nicholas. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Gemiler Strait.

Day 3: Yesilkoy - Kas
In the morning, we will set sail early to cross Yedi Burunlar (Seven Capes) smoothly. We will anchor at Yesilkoy Bay, which is close to Kalkan, for breakfast and to enjoy the sea. Then on the way to Kas, we will have another break for a swim and anchor at Kas Harbour. Here you will have the chance to walk around Kas, which was an old Greek Town, and to experience nightlife in Kas. Being one of the most important towns of Lykia, Kas gained importance in Roman Times and eventually became the centre of Episcopacy in Byzantine times. Kas is a rich land with the surrounding cities that belong to the Antique period and with other historical values.

Day 4: Kekova - Tersane - Ucagiz
After breakfast we will cruise for the Sunken city of Kekova. Here we will stop for a swimming break and for lunch at Tersane Bay where you will see an old ship yard and from the Roman Period and a church from the Byzantine times. For the night we will anchor at Ucagiz Bay.

Day 5: Simena - Gokkaya
After breakfast, it is possible to have a short trip on the land to Kalekoy (Simena) during which you will have the chance to take some of the most beautiful photographs of Antique Lykia. Lunch will be served at Gokkaya marina where we will anchor for a swim. For dinner and overnight stay we will anchor at another natural beauty spot at Ucagiz Bay.

Day 6: Bayindir Bay - Kalkan
After breakfast we will cruise to Bayindir Bay and also enjoy the sea. After lunch we will anchor at Kalkan Marina. Here an optional Lykian Cities tour can be organised. Xhantos, the capital of Likya, Patara the city of trade and harbour, Tilos the city of sports, Letoon that is the most important religion centre of Likya region and the famous Saklikent Canyon can be included in our route for this optional tour. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Kalkan harbour.

We will leave the boat by 10:30 after breakfast.

What our clients say!

Dear Necmi,
Your Dalaman pick-up and drop off was ready to go and Gocek was a nice little town with easy shopping and free delivery, we stayed the previous night at Gorkem Apartments which were absolutely superb with a fabulous breakfast. It was easy to both depart from and return to the marina, we sailed to the East and made a number of stops including stern tie-ups and swing anchor and mooring evenings. 14 days is essential if you want to relax and spend a couple of nights in the towns like Kalkan and Kas where we found loads of good restaurants esp Zula and Ottoman in Kalkan.

As for the sailing we all had a great time with Beaufort 2-7, the hand over was very simple and thorough, the staff were very helpful and the yacht was ready to go several hours earlier than the 16.00 hrs so we sailed out that afternoon and had our first meal at a 'jetty restaurant' a couple of hours away.

The Turkish marine regulations for sanitation and mooring in many of the bays mean beautiful clean water to swim in straight off the boat morning noon and night. The neighbouring yacht at one place told us this was, (along with New Zealand) the best place to sail. As to yourself, you answered every email quickly, sorted out any problem that arose, and when we had a gear breakage it was fixed as quickly as possible. Many thanks and we hope to come again but it is a long journey from N.Z

Our holiday was the most relaxing, laid-back and enjoyable holiday we have ever had. Everything ran smoothly from the moment we were greeted at the airport to our last day when the crew spent their free time with us just to make sure we got away okay. Our crew were fantastic - friendly, easy-going and happy to accomodate and anticipate our needs. The food was fantastic and while it was at first strange to let the crew do everything for us, by the end of the week we were so thoroughly relaxed we found it difficult to fend for ourselves when we returned home! We spent every night in a different bay and saw some of the most amazing, blue waters we have ever seen. There is nothing quite like waking up in a beautiful little bay to dive off the boat for that first swim of the day. We even go to meet Bardem the very friendly seal who put his head in our boat and was rewarded with a pat on the head. I have been raving about our Turkish holiday to anybody who will listen and I would highly recommend Boating Turkey to anybody considering a Turkish sailing experience. We hope to return one day!
