It happens very rarely when I'm completely satisfied with the services offered, but this was the case.
In the beginning of may 2008 I was getting completely annoyed with constant delays and misinformation after numerous attempts to charter a catamaran via Russian or Greek companies. It was then I found Boating Turkey website, which straight away proved to be well laid-out and informative. So I sent a request for a catamaran charter and expected to wait another week or two for a reply, the usual time for the other companies. Imagine my surprise when 3 hours later I got my reply! One week later our holiday was fully booked and paid for.
I was very pleased with this punctuality and thoughtfulness. I felt like I was talking to a friend rather than a company that's trying to sell me something. Another advantage of Boating Turkey was a very detailed contract, with no hidden costs, everything laid out clearly (apparently this happens very rarely).
Our first charter with Boating Turkey was on board Lavezzi 40 catamaran, my husband and I, accompanied by a Turkish skipper Umit. Turkey, weather, wind - everything was great. Umit showed us a lot of beautiful little places which we would have never found ourselves.

Our next charter was with a larger crew of 6 people, with a skipper named Hans. This trip was even better than the 1st, it was a perfect mix of active sailing, chilling in the little deserted bays, practicing various maneuvers on a catamaran, and discovering places of cultural interest. Hans impressed us with his complete knowledge of sailing and Turkey in particular, as well as his great sense of humor.

About us: we are a married couple in our early fifties, my husband got his RYA Dayskipper qualification last year, I completed a RYA Competent Crew course. We decided to charter a few boats first with the skipper to feel completely confident when we charter the boat for ourselves.

I'd like to thank Boating Turkey, and Necmi, Umit and Hans in particular for a great time we've spent this summer! We hope to work with Boating Turkey again in the future!

“From the moment we made our first tentative enquiry until we arrived back at the airport at the end of our vacation we could not have wished to have received a better level of service than that provided by Boating Turkey. The booking and pre-trip procedures were made very straightforward for us, leading us to arrive at Dalaman airport with great confidence. Our gulet, Dea Delmare was simply stunning and we had a crew that were attentive whenever we needed anything and invisible when we were enjoying our charter. The food provided was unbelievably good, none of us could believe the quantity and variety of dishes that kept appearing from such a small place. The weather was fantastic and, set against such a beautiful backdrop, combined to create a memorable holiday. We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary with our children and their partners and the crew threw a surprise party for us which, amazingly, included tendering in to our “private” bay a DJ with all of his equipment. We had a really awesome time sailing again in Turkey and will definitely be back next year!
The yacht my brother hired was very impressive – spacious, easy to sail and everything was in good working order. It was neat, very clean and the linen smelt divine! The hand-over was quick and effortless – also on return to port – all was handled very professionally. Your staff are friendly and helpful. It was a nice touch to have the mobile phone in case of emergency (which fortunately we never had to use).
Just a few small things which may further improve guests experience: -
It would have been great to have some dish sponges/ washing up cloths for washing dishes and also washing up liquid. As most of your guests come from other countries, these kind of groceries items are such a waste to purchase and not usually included in our food shop.
The pillows were quite uncomfortable – very hard. I only became use to it towards the end of the trip. ‘Softer’ feather-down type or similar would be more suitable – we had these on the yacht we hired last year from a different charter company.
Perhaps also to include swimming towels – even as an extra option to guests to pre-order/ pay for and have on the yacht on arrival.

We had a wonderful week of sailing in Turkey and the boat and crew far exceeded our expectations. The planning process through Boating Turkey was very smooth and everything turned out to be exactly as promised. The chef on board cooked three fantastic meals a day and everyone from 12 to 55 years of age had a great vacation. The captain was very knowledgeable about the waters around Bodrum and we will definitively consider coming back for more
