I'd like to thank Boating Turkey and Necmi in particular! It happens very rarely when I'm completely satisfied with the services offered, but this was the case. In the beginning of may 2008 I was getting completely annoyed with constant delays and misinformation after numerous attempts to charter a catamaran via Russian or Greek companies. It was then I found Boating Turkey website, which straight away proved to be well laid-out and informative. So I sent a request for a catamaran charter and expected to wait another week or two for a reply, the usual time for the other companies. Imagine my surprise when 3 hours later I got my reply! One week later our holiday was fully booked and paid for. I was very pleased with this punctuality and thoughtfulness. I felt like I was talking to a friend rather than a company that's trying to sell me something. Another advantage of Boating Turkey was a very detailed contract, with no hidden costs, everything laid out clearly (apparently this happens very rarely). Our first charter with Boating Turkey was on board Lavezzi 40 catamaran, my husband and I, accompanied by a Turkish skipper Umit. Turkey, weather, wind - everything was great. Umit showed us a lot of beautiful little places which we would have never found ourselves. Our next charter was with a larger crew of 6 people, with a skipper named Hans. This trip was even better than the 1st, it was a perfect mix of active sailing, chilling in the little deserted bays, practicing various maneuvers on a catamaran, and discovering places of cultural interest. Hans impressed us with his complete knowledge of sailing and Turkey in particular, as well as his great sense of humor. About us: we are a married couple in our early fifties, my husband got his RYA Dayskipper qualification last year, I completed a RYA Competent Crew course. We decided to charter a few boats first with the skipper to feel completely confident when we charter the boat for ourselves. Dear Necmi, Your Dalaman pick-up and drop off was ready to go and Gocek was a nice little town with easy shopping and free delivery, we stayed the previous night at Gorkem Apartments which were absolutely superb with a fabulous breakfast. It was easy to both depart from and return to the marina, we sailed to the East and made a number of stops including stern tie-ups and swing anchor and mooring evenings. 14 days is essential if you want to relax and spend a couple of nights in the towns like Kalkan and Kas where we found loads of good restaurants esp Zula and Ottoman in Kalkan. As for the sailing we all had a great time with Beaufort 2-7, the hand over was very simple and thorough, the staff were very helpful and the yacht was ready to go several hours earlier than the 16.00 hrs so we sailed out that afternoon and had our first meal at a 'jetty restaurant' a couple of hours away. The Turkish marine regulations for sanitation and mooring in many of the bays mean beautiful clean water to swim in straight off the boat morning noon and night. The neighbouring yacht at one place told us this was, (along with New Zealand) the best place to sail. As to yourself, you answered every email quickly, sorted out any problem that arose, and when we had a gear breakage it was fixed as quickly as possible. We rented a sail boat from Boating Turkey in october 2011 for one week in Marmaris. Everything was handled profesionally from the very beginning, all our questions were answered quickly and clearly. later, we had to change our rental period, it was accomodated quickly and without any charge. The depth sounder did not work on the GPS console in the cockpit, and there were some issues with the alarm setting. ( The alarm went off on the depth at 10 meters....which meant the depth sounder was in a constant alarm state(noise!) while anchoring. ). We had our bareboat charter on July 2011. I must say we were really impressed at the way every detail was handled by Boating Turkey. They thought of every small thing we could need on board. Due to bad weather conditions and lack of experience of our crew members we had an unfortunate start of the charter. We ripped the main sail just couple hours after leaving the marina. We had 30 knots of wind which is usually an extreme weather condition in Bodrum. So we had a bad start. However their crew drove to the point where we were in only an hour and replaced our main sail. They didn't even require anything for that and we got our security deposit back in full amount. We rented Papalagi which is a 34.5 feet Jeanneau. Boat was in perfect condition. "Having just returned from a week on Sun-World IX we have to say it was one of the best sailing trips we have ever had. The company “Boating Turkey” were wonderful to deal with from the very first email from Necmi. The “4 star” boat was very comfortable, well maintained and the captain and crew were excellent and waited on us hand and foot. The weather was excellent, sun shining every day and we visited some lovely bays and most of us swam every day. The water was crystal clear in most bays and although a little on the chilly side some days as it is tends to be in the Mediterranean, it was great to warm up in the sun then jump in to cool off. The chef was excellent and most of the food was typical Turkish style, made with very fresh ingredients and very tasty. The crew made a big effort to please everyone which is quite a feat in a party of 19 and also adapted meals to meet the special dietary requirements of some of our group. Although the group was large the boat was even larger and there was a cabin with ensuite for every 2 or 3 people and of course there was huge amounts of deck space to sunbathe, read or just lounge around. Some nights were warm and some people slept on the many cushions and sun beds up on deck but others found it was cool enough to sleep in their cabins with or without the air-conditioning working which was only when the generator was on. Having sailed at various places around the world on both bareboat and crewed charters over the last 32 years, we feel well qualified to say that this was a wonderful experience and we would love to sail with Boating Turkey again. Our holiday was the most relaxing, laid-back and enjoyable holiday we have ever had. Everything ran smoothly from the moment we were greeted at the airport to our last day when the crew spent their free time with us just to make sure we got away okay. Our crew were fantastic - friendly, easy-going and happy to accomodate and anticipate our needs. The food was fantastic and while it was at first strange to let the crew do everything for us, by the end of the week we were so thoroughly relaxed we found it difficult to fend for ourselves when we returned home! We spent every night in a different bay and saw some of the most amazing, blue waters we have ever seen. There is nothing quite like waking up in a beautiful little bay to dive off the boat for that first swim of the day. Dear Necmi Our recent two week holiday with Captain Cevat, Hassan & Bulent onboard Yildizhanlar 11 with 3 other couples from Australia, I would describe as a wonderful life experience that was thoroughly enjoyable with lovely memories! Where to start? The scenery from Bodrum to Gocek was incredible, the swimming in such clear tranqual waters amazing. The food Bulent cooked was absolutely devine, always varied and obviously lots of preparation and thought put into each meal, we ate like kings and queens! The chips in the morning omelette, the fresh fish and chicken dishes were a real hit! Captain Cevat was a delight, his knowledge of the areas we travelled, his expertise sailing and handling his gulet was obvious and reassuring, we felt very safe and looked after. We appreciated that Captain Cevat took the time to accompany us on some of our excursions, we obviously learnt more about the surroundings by having him with us to ask any questions and knowing where to go to get the best view. But the real hidden treasure onboard Yildizhanlar 11 was Hassan, his gentle, obliging manner to our every whim was just amazing. Hassan made a point to remember what each of us liked to drink upon waking, he would have a lovely cup of turkish tea, coffee or apple tea ready for us. All throughout the day, Hassan made sure we were comfortable, well fed and watered (including the best “knock your socks off” gin and tonics!) he took care of “all” our domestic duties. Hassan did this in a very unobtrusive and professional manner, it was an absolute delight to of met him. (His smile is priceless!) I could not fault our trip, it was just what we were looking for, lots of relaxing, reading, eating, relaxing, sleeping, eating, drinking, sleeping! Dear Necmi, Thank you very much for arranging our Turkish Gulet holiday in July, 2009. This was our second boating holiday with Boating Turkey, and we absolutely loved it! We chartered the Miriam Sophie, a 28 metre luxury gulet with two other families, and cruised from Marmaris, through Turkey, to Symi and Rhodes. Our captain and his family, who were the crew, were very amenable, and did everything they could to make our trip fantastic. The food was superb, you really wonder how they can whip up such great dishes on a boat! The coves and islands we visited were all gorgeous, and the highlight I think was our 3 nights in Symi, the harbour was just gorgeous, with Italian colonial architecture and brilliant cafes, then the following 2 nights were spent in little coves with the most magnificent blue water to swim in. The captain also took us to his home port in Turkey, Green Village, which was delightful. The itinerary was very flexible, and crew happy to accommodate our choices. The boat was immaculately maintained, the cabins were large and roomy, the bathrooms were spacious and had a proper shower and toilet. There was loads of deck space both up front with sunbeds for all, and at the rear, which was enormous. We loved to sleep on deck, falling asleep with the stars at night. The captain was very skilled, we were amazed how he could manoevre such a large boat into tight spaces. All in all, we had a brilliant experience. The booking and organization process was extremely simple, easy and smooth, and Necmi was very patient with us as we changed plans several times during the booking and departure period. The drinks etc were all pre-ordered via the net. If you want a truly relaxing holiday, the sun and breeze in your face and not a care in the world, you can't beat this. Before we decided on our blue voyage we went through the people's comments on the net and decided on Boating Turkey. We found out that all those people who recommended Boating Turkey were right. We started from Marmaris heading Fethiye. The Kemaloglu I was a beautiful and comfortable 29 meter boat built 2-3 years ago. The cabins and ensuites were very well appointed. We had plenty of space in the cabin and out on the decks. The food prepared by owner's wife Inci was delicious and healthy. The crew were polite and helpful. We don't want to comment much on the scenery, atmosphere and the beauty of the bays we visited. The words (at least our words) are not enough to describe it. Dear Necmi, Our group of six travelled from the USA to charter the 3 cabin Oceanis 50 that you arranged for us. I have chartered yachts many times over the last 30 years. Our experience with your agency was flawless, from the information provided about our yacht, her equipment and condition, to your timely response to my many inquiries. The Port of Gocek, and the Skopea Marina operation is truly impressive, which comes as no surprise when you see some of the fine yachts that are berthed at the facility. Your contractor that handles the inspection, care and maintenance of the fleet is extremely professional and patient. We were able to get underway early on the first day of our charter. Our group likes to sail, and over the course of the week we were able to sail as far East as Kalkan and as far West as Ekincik, enjoying the beautiful and rugged scenery along the way. It was also a pleasant surprise to be able to communicate with such ease everywhere we visited. While we had the capability of six languages on board, the easiest for us was English, and it was spoken everywhere we went. Dear Necmi, Everything went very well. The yacht – Dufour 385 – was in a good condition and, as I discovered, very easy to steer, also when pushing back. Gocek is always a good place to start, with a lot of restaurants in small bays nearby. Fethye is only a few hours sailing away. The one-way charter is not a bad choice, because the relatively long way from Fethye/Gocek gulf to Marmaris with less places convenient to stop has to be taken into account only once. That offers the chance to visit more places, drop the anchor in more bays, than in case one has to think about returning to the marina of origin in time. All in all, we enjoyed the trip very much and unexpectedly, it was as warm in September as it was end of July. This year I don't think I have a chance to sail once more, but next year at the earliest convenience, when weather condition are preferable I will…. We've been back in Australia for 2 weeks now. It's winter here and the hot sunny days in Turkey seem like another world. We all had a wonderful week on the catamaran, 'Sweet Kitty' . We spent a lot of time going through travel brochures and surfing the internet in researching our Turkish boating holiday. After lots of false starts with other boating brokers who did not respond speedily or who only answered one or two of our questions, we found the Boating Turkey website and never looked back. The site was very clearly laid out with an extensive list of available boats along with quality photos. Salute to Capitan Yavuz Kose and Cook Serkan Babayigit (nicknamed Captain Cook by our group). Along with Boating Turkey they were responsible for one of the most enjoyable weeks we as a family with our in law children have had in our lives. This was a dream come true to us as we have been dreaming about this cruise for 6 years as we did plan a similar trip 6 years ago, but had to abandon it as 2 of the couples pulled out. My first contact with Boating Turkey for this trip was already in May last year and I had a very responsive feedback from Necmi on every e-mail that I have sent to him. He was very helpful in assisting us in all the arrangements. Due to a limited budget we chartered the smallest boat that we could get hold of, but we were pleasantly surprised with the spaciousness of the interior of the boat. The two smaller cabins were a bit uncomfortable but fine for the two younger couples in our group. We fortunately experienced excellent weather and could therefore spend all the time on the deck. Gathering as a family on the foredeck while cruising was a real family binding experience. Our captain and chef were excellent hosts as they were always there but never intruding into our privacy despite the limited circulation space. Yavuz gave us a feeling of having everything under control at all times even during a very rough spot on the open sea when we were cruising against a very strong wind. Compliments to our wonderful chef Serkan who had the ability to prepare the most wonderful meals in his small kitchen. Lunch and dinner was always a pleasant surprise with the fresh fish speared by then at night something very special. Even to us as South Africans with a very weak currency the trip was very affordable and goes highly recommended. It was an unforgettable week on the Turkish coast. The weather has been as in the catalogues. Sailing in the smooth spring time winds on a well equiped boat was so easy. And you did a big deal to our satisfaction! Already during our e-mail-contact you built up a warm and friendly atmosphere. We have always felt being well informed. Whatever you told us, it has been correct. There have never been any problems, in contacting, booking, changing, paying, in- or outchecking. It was a fortune to change the harbour because we like the small city of Göcek. Mr. Turgut is a smooth and gentle man, he did everything to comfort us. He has always been reachable if we tried to contact him. And we were lucky to get a bigger boat, so we took profit from a lot of space. The "Hey Joe" is a boat without useless things but good sailing equipment. Roll-Fock and Roll-Groß make sailing easy, especially the autopilot because we always had a quite sea. As we had absolute good weather conditions we need not bring us or the boat to the limit. Though we think she would work greatly. The plotter and the gps might be helpful things then - we only used them to control what we could see by eye. The good cards and the detailed book about harbours and bays were best helpers to find a jolly good place in a bay for the night. However, we intensively used the platform for bathing and the dinghy for short trips. We loved to have good kitchen facilities to prepare the delightful Turkish fish and vegetables. A shower in the lighted and big dimensioned bathroom was always an enliven action. We never felt cold in the bed-linen. Our experience: We would like to emphasize that from arrival until departure the whole trip was extremely well organized and arranged; pick up at airport, reception at hotel with room available to freshen up during our waiting time before boarding, lunch, transport to boat, were very helpulf and considerate. The reception on boat by crew was very warm, personal and helpful. The crew explained choices for departure which were left up to us, no pressure not throughout the whole trip. They accomodated us in any way and we can't emphasize enough how helpful and warm the crew was to us. The meals were every time a big suprise and delicious, to say nothing of the fantastic presentation!! The cleaning of the bathrooms was done at times so that it was no inconvenience to us, crew kept the boat tidy and clean. Trip was fantastic we got to see wonderful spots and we all felt sorry when we had to return. Sadly we said goodbye to the crew, but we were happy to have had such a wonderful experience for our first boat trip We are so enthusiastic that we encouraged quite a number of friends to book this kind of trip. Me and my family were going to take a Windstar cruise in early July this year. One of the ports of call was Bodrum. Reading about the place and its tourist attractions, we decided to rent a gullet for the day. I am sure now that our decision couldn't be better. It was a most relaxing trip, in a typical boat, huge and comfortable, swimming in clear waters with no hurry at all. The crew members were very kind and helpful, and they cook wonderful meals. Everything was really well organized. Since I had arranged the gullet rental through an Internet site, having paid for their services in advance, I knew I was taking my chances. Specially because we would just have some hours in Bodrum, and it would be hard to rearrange the rental on the spot.
